Self-esteem as we have told you is the ability to love and respect you, if we do not encourage ourselves to love ourselves then it will be very difficult for someone else to do so. Having a low self-esteem it is normal to get depressed from nothing and walk all day decayed in the same way in which a person with depression would be, that if we go to the case you could get it if you do not work or develop your self-esteem.
By developing our self-esteem it is easier to feel better about ourselves, which will also influence our behavior. Good self-esteem can help us with different things, among which we can highlight:
1) Getting to love ourselves as we are: By loving ourselves as we are, we are opening a world of possibilities that were previously hidden before our noses. It is learning to appreciate every minimum positive thing we have and make the most of it. In this way instead of finding defects in you, you will find virtues.
2) When we know each other perfectly, we know what our strengths and weaknesses are, when it comes to having good self-esteem. We learn to deal with our weaknesses surely by improving them and we value or prioritize our strengths in this way allowing us to have a better attitude to situations in general.
3) When it comes to strengthening our weak points and turning them into positive points, we foster our happiness and become in some ways more positive. Thanks to this acquired positivity it is easier for us to achieve our goals and our objectives. Since what happens some psychologists call "The prophecy of self-fulfillment." And it is what refers to that if for example you say "I am not going to get this" it is more possible that you do not get it.
Instead with that attitude you would have a different vision and you will be able to get everything you set your mind to.
4) Finally, when one is well with oneself, one is usually completely reflected in their behavior and in their relationship with their surroundings. Therefore, a person who has a good self-esteem will be able to relate much better with the rest of the people, interact much more positively, thus establishing more solid and lasting relationships over time.
